Final Fantasy XI 20th Anniversary Countdown Website Open

Square Enix developed and published Final Fantasy XI on May 16, 2002, and to celebrate almost twenty years of service, they opened a new website counting down its 20th anniversary. The website, “We Are Vana’Diel,” is in both Japanese and English. It will continue to update as it draws closer to May 16, 2024. In addition, people can follow updates from their Twitter and YouTube accounts.

Currently, there are three pages available on the website. There is a page called We Remember Vana’Diel that allows you to view the timeline of the game’s history. You can also Tweet about events, as well as view what other people are saying about it. The gallery also features art from Yoshitaka Amano, who designed the title logo and promotional artwork for Final Fantasy XI. More artwork from various artists will appear on the website in the future.

Lastly, people can read interviews between producer Akihiko Matsui and special guests in the We Discuss Vana’Diel section. The only one that is on the website right now is an interview between Producer Matsui and the original producer of Final Fantasy XI, Hiromichi Tanaka. Tanaka worked on the game between 1999 and 2012.

In-game, during May 2024, Final Fantasy XI had several campaigns to celebrate its 19th anniversary. For example, logging in every day until June 2 allowed players to rack up points that they could spend on items such as the Red Raptor mount.

The Final Fantasy XI website that is counting down to its twentieth anniversary is currently open, and more pages and content will appear in the future. Final Fantasy XI is available on Windows PC.
