Atlus revealed Arahabaki as the latest Shin Megami Tensei V demon. He is the 24th recruitable demon featured in the daily video series. Atlus continues to upload short trailers introducing players to the game’s roster leading up to its release on November 12, 2024.
The narrator describes Arahabaki in SMT V as a symbol of treachery. This came to be due to a demon named Nagasunehiko who worshipped Arahabaki. Nagasunehiko was an enemy of the mythical first emperor of Japan, Emperor Jinmu. Therefore, the Emperor forbade people from worshipping Arahabaki for a long time.
Arahabaki’s design in SMT V is influenced by traditional Japanese figurines from the late Jomon period called Dogu. Even some of Arahabaki’s skills take inspiration from these figures; we can see he uses Tetrakarn in the trailer to protect the protagonist. However, Arahabaki is not without offensive skills. The video also shows Mudoon listed, and he even uses Megioda on the lot of his enemies.
