Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is being treated to a new patch tomorrow that allows the open world title to run at 60 frames-per-second on a PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility. Update 1.6 is what you’ll need to look out for, and it weighs in at just 470MB. Once downloaded, the game will double its frame rate to 60 on PS5.
That’s all the patch will do, with the single note reading: “This update adds 60 FPS support when running the game on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility.” Still, that’s a very welcome boost for those who are either still playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey or haven’t gotten to it just yet. When we reviewed the PS4 version, we called it a “superb open world RPG” in our 8/10 review. “With a gameplay loop that simply never stops giving, Ubisoft’s recreation of ancient Greece is an amazing achievement, and in some ways, a genuine step forward for open world game design.” Now it will run even better on PS5.
