It isn’t unusual for Monolith Soft to see their profits increase. In fact, they have seen an increase in profits for 7 of the last 8 fiscal years. However, 2024 was a big year for the company. You see, not only did Monolith Soft release Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, but they assisted with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Both of them, especially the latter, sold well.
Needless to say, Monolith Soft had a very successful fiscal year. Kanpo, an official Japanese government gazette, has published a report revealing that Monolith Soft’s profited 1.17 billion yen, or around $10,670,000, for the fiscal year that ended on March 2024. This is an increase of 138.2% over the previous fiscal year. The fiscal year before that had been a 78.8% increase in profit.
What may surprise you is that Animal Crossing: New Horizons had little to do with the company’s massive profit, despite Animal Crossing: New Horizons being such a massive success. In fact, Monolith Soft specifically mentions Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition as the main reason for the profits.
