Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone season 5 roadmap revealed

The next season for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone begins Tuesday, Sept. 7. Season 5 “Reloaded” brings all-new content to Call of Duty multiplayer and Zombies mode, including an event called The Numbers — which harkens back to a classic Black Ops narrative theme — and an appearance from comic book supercop Judge Dredd.

Also, your bullets can look like beer, because Oktoberfest is coming to Call of Duty.

Activision, Treyarch, and Raven Software outlined Call of Duty’s latest season in a roadmap published Thursday, revealing the free and paid content coming for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone over the next few weeks and months. That includes an updated version of multiplayer map Zoo, originally released as part of the original Black Ops’ Escalation DLC pack, and the return of Demolition mode in core Black Ops Cold War multiplayer. Warzone players will get another crack at 50v50 team deathmatch with Clash. Here’s how Clash works:

Building off Warzone Rumble, a deathmatch based in Verdansk, Clash takes select areas from this massive map and pits two teams of 50 v 50 against each other in an unlimited respawn fight to 500 points. Whether it’s Downtown, the Boneyard, or even the popular-drop zone of the Factory, your mission in these Clash areas remains the same: earn points by eliminating enemies and completing Contracts for in-match rewards and collect powerups from defeated enemies that give gaming-changing abilities.

There’s another new Warzone mode too: Iron Trials ’84. Players will experience increased health, altered health regen, no complementary loadout drops, and remixed Gulag rules in Iron Trials ’84, which the developer calls “the toughest Battle Royale mode to ever come to Verdansk.”

Zombies players will get a new Outbreak region (Armada) and a new World Event.

The Numbers Event for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone kicks of Sept. 21, and it’s your path to unlock the Sai melee weapon, if you want to go Raphael on your opponents. Players will also be able to cosplay as Judge Dredd with skins — one in full color, one in cel-shaded black and white — for operator Ingo Beck. Rounding out the Judge Dredd theme are three weapon blueprints: the Quick Judgement SMG, the Arbitrator Rifle assault rifle, and the Lawgiver pistol. Dredd fans can also earn the “Incendiary” finishing move, “Book of Law” weapon charm, “Judge’s Watch” wrist accessory, and other cosmetics.

And while Oktoberfest is officially canceled in the real world, Call of Duty fans will also be able to grab a Lederhosen operator skin for Beck and two weapon blueprints featuring a new Beer Tracer fire effect to celebrate.

More details are available in the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone season 5 roadmap official announcement.
