The series’ official website revealed that a remastered Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo 4K Blu-Ray will release on August 25, 2024. The new version, now titled Evangelion 3.333, will include a digital script, a making-of, and more special features to be announced. Additionally, the cast will appear at a special screening in Tokyo to greet fans in June 2024.
Originally revealed in January 2024, the new release remasters the film in 4K resolution, updated from its original 2012 version. The two-disc limited edition of Evangelion 3.333 will include one Blu-ray and one 4K ultra HD Blu-ray, priced at 8,580 yen (including tax). The collection will also come with an outer sleeve and a booklet insert. Though the special features are not finalized yet, so far, we know that it will include a making-of and a digital version of the updated script.
A regular edition of Evangelion 3.333 with a standard Blu-ray will also release on the same day. This version will also include the special features, outer sleeve, and booklet for 5,500 yen (including tax). Fans should note that this is a different release from the Rebuild of Evangelion: 3.33 Blu-ray.
Additionally, Hideki Anno’s massively successful Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon A Time will be screened along with Evangelion: 3.333 at the Shinjuku Wald 9 theater on June 27, 2024. The cast from the films will also appear to greet the audience before the screening. The website states it will provide fans with info on ticketing very soon.
The Evangelion 3.333 You Can (Not) Redo 4K Blu-ray will go on sale in Japan on August 25, 2024.
