Evangelion Typing Project Advanced English Translation Shared

Derek Pascarella announced the English fan translation for the Dreamcast game Neon Genesis Evangelion Typing Project Advanced is complete. The full 1.0 version is available for people to experience. This marks the second Evangelion Typing Project game to be localized by Pascarella.

The 1.0 patch for the educational game is immediately available. Almost everything is translated in it, though Pascarella noted that technical limitations kept some spoken dialogue from being translated. The official patch notes also explain how to unlock the secret level.

The concept behind Evangelion Typing Project Advanced is similar to that of Typing of the Dead: Overkill. You type out words to increase your score in lessons. As you go through the level and type in the game, you can do things like increase people’s synch rates, cook, and destroy EVAs.

Here’s a video from Pascarella showing off the Evangelion Typing Project Advanced English translation and some of the different objects people can complete by typing out words.

Previously, Pascarella worked on Neon Genesis Evangelion Typing Project E. In fact, an updated 2.0 patch debuted in January 2024. Here’s a peek at how it looks.

Both Evangelion Typing Project E and Typing Project Advanced appeared on the Dreamcast in Japan in 2001.
