Last year, the unique visual novel Necrobarista came out and received an overall positive reception, with critics giving particular praise to its story and distinct visuals and cinematography. Those who enjoyed the original experience will likely rejoice now that Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase just unveiled a new director’s cut for the game, entitled Necrobarista: Final Pour. Switch owners already get to play this updated rerelease, but PC owners need not fret, as Australian developer Route 59 confirmed that Necrobarista: Final Pour will come to Steam at a later date. And it won’t even cost the price of a latte (it’s free for owners of the game).
According to the developers, Necrobarista: Final Pour updates the original game. It will improve visuals and implement a “cinematic aspect ratio,” two fairly standard updates for a rerelease such as this one. But the improvements do not stop there, as the rerelease boasts an impressive amount of added content, such as “including four hours of never-before-seen gameplay, new modes, more original music, additional environments to explore,” among other features. In addition, the rerelease features both of the original game’s DLC updates, Walking to the Sky and Devil’s Den, right from the get-go.
What are the new modes?
The developers have highlighted two of Necrobarista: Final Pour’s additional modes: Studio Mode and Ashling Doodle Mode. Studio Mode allows players “use to create and edit scenes using the Necrobarista Engine,” while the Ashling Doodle Mode lets players create their very own patron characters to include in the game. Both modes add a degree of customization and personalization not seen in the original release, which should give at least some Necrobarista fans extra incentive to experience the game again.
Necrobarista: Final Pour seems like it will add quite a bit of spice to the original game. And those who missed out on Necrobarista the first time have all the more reason to try it out. Route 59 did not specify a release window for the Steam release of Necrobarista: Final Pour, so PC owners will want to stay tuned to the developers’ social media to find out more.
