First it was Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and now it’s Fortnite copying Among Us with a new mode that sounds just like Innersloth’s game of working out who’s acting sus. Under the name Impostors, this “is a mode for a maximum of ten players: eight Agents maintaining The Bridge and two Impostors out to overtake it”. Sound familiar? We think so.
The eight Agents must perform tasks such as calibrating chests and llamas, delivering Storm reports for analysis, and repairing the famous Battle Bus. On the opposite team, the two Impostors must attempt to blend in and sneakily take out the Agents without being found out. If an Agent discovers a dead body, they can choose to report it and then vote out who they think is the prime suspect. The game is won when all Impostors are eliminated. Yeah, this really is Fortnite Impostors Among Us.
At least Fortnite does have its own small twist on the formula: Impostors are equipped with a fair few tools to help them stay incognito. All uncompleted Assignments can be disabled for a limited time, Agents can teleport all players to a different part of the map, and the Peely Party ability turns everyone into Peely for a short time. Neat! The limited-time mode is available to play now in Fortnite.
