Fortnite v17.50 update changes IO weapon drops, updates playlist menu

Fortnite Season 7 is drawing to a close. The season has been action packed with crossovers, new alien themed weapons and cosmetics, and more. However, this isn’t stopping Epic Games from ending the season with a bang. The Fortnite v17.50 update has launched, which switches up the spawn rate of IO weapons and changes the playlist menu.

From September 2, alien and IO weapons will be found more frequently than ever. Abductors will only have the Kymera Ray Gun, Grab-itron, Prop-ifier, and Alien Nanites. In addition, IO chests will only contain the Pulse Rifle, Rail Gun, Plasma Cannon, and Inflate-A-Bull.

In terms of regular chests, the Kymera Ray Gun, Pulse Rifle, and Rail Gun will appear here after the update. Moreover, the Mothership is ready to start the abduction of yet another point of interest. Already, Slurpy Swamp and Coral Castle have been abducted. Leaks suggest that Corny Complex is next to be abducted, but we’ll not have to wait long to find out.

Epic Games has also changed the playlist menu with this update. As always, you can play the classic battle royale modes. However, the new playlist menu will let you discover game modes made by both the developers, and the community. Also, you can utilize the categories and tags to find your preferred game modes more easily.

A new ‘My Library’ feature streamlines this process even further, by allowing you to jump back into your favorite modes from a new menu tab. Finally, Epic Games has fixed a bug which caused players to be unable to use inventory items after swapping from a Prop-ifier to a consumable item.

With Season 8 just around the corner, it will be interesting to see what the developer has in store for next season. Until then, you will have to complete more alien themed challenges after the Fortnite v17.50 update, to level up your battle pass before the new season kicks off on September 13.
