Sucker Punch have released details about how to transfer your Playstation 5 save file for Ghost of Tsushima to Playstation 5 in order to play Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut which releases August 20th.

This week will be the release of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut which will be releasing on August 20th for both Playstation 4 and Playstation 5. Developer Sucker Punch have released details of how you can transfer your save file from PS4 to PS5, if you plan to upgrade your console. You can also re-earn trophies you’ve already collected through the PS4 version, with a few details below on how to trigger Platinum and the Grand Opening trophy in New Game+ on PS5. Read on for all the details!

What is the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut?

The Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is coming to Playstation 5 and Playstation 4 on August 20th. The new edition will feature all the original released content, plus a new chapter following Jin’s story. The new story will take players to Iki Island, which stays close to history as this island also was invaded during this time period. Jin will go investigate rumours of Mongols situated on the island, but soon is caught up in events that are “deeply personal”. This forces him to relive memories from his traumatic past. The PS5 version comes with upgraded graphics including 4K resolution which targest 60 fps.

How to Transfer Ghost of Tsushima Save File from Playstation 4 to Playstation 5 Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut

  • To transfer a PS4 save file to Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PS5 you will need to have it in your PS5 storage, then select “Transfer PS4 Console Save” on the menu.
  • Before transferring Sucker Punch recommends downloading the latest patch first.
  • If you are a PS Plus member using cloud saves you download locally before transferring the save file.

How to Re-Earn Ghost of Tsushima Trophies in Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut PS5

  • When you transfer your PS4 save to GoT Director’s Cut on PS5, you will be able to “re-earn” trophies that have already unlocked on PS4. After the transfer. when you load the game on PS5 the trophies should begin to appear.
  • Players should note the A Moment in Time trophy won’t pop up until you enter photo mode and toggle any option, this will then re-earn it.
  • In order to re-earn the Platinum Trophy you will need to trigger the A Moment in Time trophy in photo mode.
  • Those who previously earned Grand Opening trophy in New Game+, you will need to visit Baku the Voiceless’ shop again and exit to re-earn the trophy. No trading of additional Ghost Flowers is needed, simply browse the inventory and then exit.

  • You can pre-order an upgrade to Director’s Cut on PS4 for $19.99 USD. This upgrade will become available starting on August 20.

Starting on August 20th:

  • If you bought Director’s Cut PS4, you’ll be able to upgrade to Director’s Cut PS5 at any time for $9.99 USD
  • You can also upgrade directly (from original Ghost of Tsushima PS4) to Director’s Cut on PS5 for $29.99 USD
