Grand Theft Auto 5 is about eight years old with two generations of releases but its current-gen release is still worth checking out. Rockstar Games has already promised improvements to the performance along with upgraded visuals but has yet to really provide extensive details. In a new tweet, it did offer some slight new gameplay details for Grand Theft Auto Online players.
“When GTA Online launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year, select vehicles will be upgradable with all new speed improvements and more.” These upgrades are only available with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 so PS4 and Xbox One players are seemingly out of luck. PS3 and Xbox 360 players are probably past caring, especially since GTA Online is shutting down on those platforms in December.
Nevertheless, these improvements are likely only a fraction of the total number. When Grand Theft Auto 5 launched for PS4 and Xbox One, it offered a first person perspective, spatial anti-aliasing, higher resolution textures, improved draw distances and much more. It should be interesting to see what this latest re-release has to offer.
Grand Theft Auto 5 releases on November 11th for Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
