Halloween Kills streaming available on Peacock on Oct. 15

Michael Myers is returning to Haddonfield to wreak havoc once again, but this time around his rampage won’t be limited to theaters. On Thursday, Universal announced that Halloween Kills will be available to stream on Peacock on Oct. 15, the same day the movie is released in theaters.

Halloween Kills is the sequel to 2018’s Halloween, which is a sequel to 1978’s Halloween and exactly none of the other movies in the series. So for those keeping track, that means that Halloween Kills is the third movie in this version of the franchise — and isn’t related at all to the Rob Zombie reboot either.

Director David Gordan Green, who also helmed the 2018 movie, has returned for the sequel, which will tell the story of Laurie Strode and her family as they’re once again hounded by The Shape. At the end of the previous movie Michael Myers was left for dead in a burning building but, of course, Michael isn’t going to let something like a house fire stop him from his killing spree.

While the intention was to keep Halloween Kills as a theatrical exclusive movie, a rocky box office and rising concerns about new variants of COVID-19 and continually escalating infection-rates apparently caused Universal to reconsider its release strategy. The new announcement simply says Peacock, so it doesn’t seem like there will be any additional costs associated with the release — unlike services like Disney Plus’ Premier Access.

Halloween Kills will be debut in theaters and on Peacock on Oct. 15.
