Hidden Gem Town-Builder Dwarrows is Available Today for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S

I’m extremely excited to be able to say that, today, Dwarrows is available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, marking it as our first console release as a company. For the past year on PC, our little hidden gem has gained a small and mighty audience of town-builders and explorers, who have been very kind to us and singing praises for our little (big) game.

Dwarrows is a peaceful third-person adventure and town-builder where you take control of three uniquely skilled characters to help the wayward wood elves build a new home after their old one was lost. When you arrive in the new land, you discover that there is so much to do! Resources need collecting, buildings need building, and treasures need finding! As you explore the world you discover there are secrets and ancient trials waiting to be unlocked and many friends to make along the way.

Dwarrows is at times goofy and other times heartfelt. It is a culmination of silly adventures and sincere missions of service to others and charity. Our goal always was to make a light-hearted world free of much anxiety, where a player could just relax and explore, but also a game with a lot of hidden complexity and secrets. A game with lots and lots to do where you could get lost without having to worry too much or stress.

We created Dwarrows mostly as a tiny team of three with help from our outstanding composer Neil Quillen on the soundtrack. Being very small indies, we didn’t have much in the way of a budget for the game, so we self-funded everything and worked really hard on our own for many years to create this labour of love. Being an open-world game, we probably bit off a lot more than we could chew at first, but we kept trucking along and we saw a preliminary PC release in early 2024.

Since that time, we have been very excited to finally bring Dwarrows to console, where we believe it really has a chance to shine!

So what can you do? We spent a lot of time thinking about the pillars of our design in Dwarrows and we got it down to four core elements of gameplay:

• Explore: Play as three uniquely skilled characters to quest and puzzle through a peaceful and atmospheric world.
• Gather: Supply your town with resources gathered from the land surrounding it, from hidden treasures, and other wonders.
• Build: Discover and unlock new structures to grow and improve your town.
• Befriend: Find friendship in the local wildlife to help boost your town and character abilities, and invite the wandering Wood-Elves to join and grow your town.
