King’s Bounty II uses an ideals or alignment system. For certain quests, you’ll be presented with options on how you’ll proceed. In turn, you’ll obtain points towards that ideal, and you’ll be one step closer to unlocking new talents. However, there are also a few caveats, such as thresholds that prevent you from choosing an outcome of an opposing viewpoint. Here’s our King’s Bounty II ideals and alignment guide to help you with important decisions related to Order, Anarchy, Power, and Finesse.
Note: For more information, check out our King’s Bounty II guides and features hub. We also have a beginner’s guide to get you started with the basic mechanics and combat system. Lastly, please be reminded that this guide contains minor spoilers.
King’s Bounty II ideals and alignment guide – Order, Anarchy, Power, and Finesse decisions
The alignment system in King’s Bounty II has two sets of diametrically opposed ideals: Order vs. Anarchy and Power vs. Finesse. You’re always presented with these kind of dilemmas, and they can’t be interchanged (i.e., you won’t see an Order vs. Finesse choice).
Still, as mentioned in our official review, things can get a bit confusing. For instance, your chosen hero won’t be able to pick an option at the beginning of the campaign because they start out with perks that are diametrically opposed (i.e., Katharine has +3 Finesse already, so she won’t be able to attack the golems in New Tyrene because it’s a Power option). But, there are instances when you can get points for an opposing ideal depending on the quest.
Anyway, I’ve divided this King’s Bounty II ideals and alignment guide into two sections (one for each set). I’m enumerating the quest decisions in chronological order depending on when I encountered them in my playthrough. You can refer to the pages below for the parts that you need help with:
