Jumanji: The Curse Returns is on the way to Switch, Marmalade Game Studio announced during Gamescom: Opening Night Live today. A release is planned for later in 2024.
Marmalade states that Jumanji: The Curse Returns will let players “experience the board game as it’s played in the original 1995 movie, presented in a contemporary digital style.” We have more information and a trailer below.
Roll the dice and read the riddles. The Jumanji board game will summon a mysterious jungle and take over the town, unless you stop it! Team-up with your friends for a casual co-op adventure like no other. In every round you’ll be matching the correct items from your stash with those needed to send the peril back into the board. Time restrictions mean you’ll be working as a team throughout, but it’s easy-to-master fun you can enjoy together with friends and family.
You’ll face crocodiles, elephants, rhinos and more, plus creeping jungle vines that will try to ensnare you all. And if Jumanji releases Van Pelt, the hunter will pop up at random moments and try to disable your team! It’s up to you and your friends to stop Jumanji from invading the town! Stand together, make it to the center of the board… and win the game.
Can you hear the drums?
Marmalade Game Studio brought The Game of Life 2 to Switch earlier this year. We have more on that here.
