Looks Like The Last of Us 2 Has Been Permanently Discounted on PS Store

The Last of Us 2 PS4 PlayStation 4 1

The Last of Us: Part II appears to have been permanently discounted on the PS Store in the United States, following its release last year. The sequel – which we awarded a 10/10 – is now available from $39.99, with the Digital Deluxe bumping the price to $49.99. Unlike other savings on Sony’s virtual storefront, there’s no expiry date attached to this “deal”, suggesting it’s the title’s new price point.

No changes have been made on the UK storefront as of yet, although we’d expect regional accounts to follow if this isn’t a mistake. It perhaps rules out the possibility of a Director’s Cut-esque re-release, as Ghost of Tsushima was removed from the PS Store entirely in order to make room for its full-price update, which is due out next month.

Naughty Dog confirmed that it’s working on a multiplayer spin-off to the sequel over a year ago, but we’re yet to get any further information on that. There’s also a rumour that the California team is remaking the original entry in the series for the PS5, as it also collaborates with HBO on a TV show adaptation. For now, though, you can pick up one of the PS4’s best games at a much lower price.
