In case you missed the small-print, that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 debut trailer featured “footage captured on [a] PS5” – which is pretty impressive, to say the least. But just in case there were any doubts, Insomniac Games’ lead VFX artist Bryanna Lindsey has confirmed that the clip was captured in real-time on Sony’s new system.
“The team did a killer job,” she wrote, in response to a Twitter video comparing the sequel with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ CG commercial. “Real-time VFX are difficult but I’m so proud of our whole team for pushing our quality bar.” With two more years to work on this, we’re expecting a sumptuous sensory feast when it swings by in 2024.
