Master Collection has received graphics options on PC

When the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection launched, it had the barest of barebones ports, with no graphics options in sight. You had to include a special instruction in a Steam window to pick your resolution. Upon launching the game, it’d just a bring up a window that you had to maximize. Koei Tecmo isn’t exactly known for putting effort into its PC ports. So this wasn’t a giant surprise, even if it was an unwelcome one. However, that’s changed, as the compilation has gotten graphics options added to it today. While this won’t alleviate all of the issues fans have with the title, it’ll make it a smoother experience.

As for what today’s patch has added, the changes aren’t exactly comprehensive. All three of the titles in Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection will allow customers to choose their display mode, resolution, vsync, triple buffering, anti-aliasing, depth of field, and the ability to turn shadows on or off. I’m honestly quite pleased by all of this, as it’s much more than I expected. Plus, it shows that Koei Tecmo is at least willing to listen to players. Not that we have blood in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 or anything, but I’ve seen proof that modders are at least working on it.

Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection graphics options at last

If you’re curious as to how to access these new options, simply launch each game, go into options, and choose screen settings. There you’ll see the new list of the aforementioned options. Only fullscreen and windowed options are available for your display mode, but the fullscreen option is actually borderless and not fullscreen at all. Being able to select your resolution is a low bar to clear, to be sure, but it’s great to have. All of the other options are simply on and off toggles.

I’m not sure as to why Koei Tecmo decided to add this functionality to Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, but this is certainly a step in the right direction. Now, about that blood mode in Sigma 2.
