New Asuka Figure Shows Her White Plugsuit From Evangelion 3.0+1.0

Pre-orders are now open on Kotobukiya for a new Evangelion Asuka Langley figure of the character in her special white plugsuit, as seen in the latest theatrical release of Evangelion 3.0+1.0. The figure also rests on a sculpture of the new-02α version of her own Eva unit. The 1/6 scale figure will cost ¥14,080 (about $128), and ship sometime in Japan in January 2024.

Avoiding potential spoilers, the white plugsuit is a prototype suit that both Asuka and Mari wear towards the end of the recent movie. As shown in trailers released late last year, the plugsuit automatically changes size to fit the form of its wearer. It was specifically designed for battles where there would be pressure fluctuations. Additionally, though not shown on the figure, the suit’s dark blue bands have a rainbow hue when adjusting size.

Kotobukiya notes that the combination of white with red accents resembling Asuka’s normal plugsuit shows a “new side of the character.” The team also took “special care” with the base of the statue. The statue is an impartial carving of a version of Eva Unit-02, as seen in the latest movie. Including the stand, the figure will stand at around 23cm tall (about 9 inches) and will come pre-painted.
