A brand new entry in the long running Mana series is now in development for consoles. The project was confirmed by producer Masaru Oyamada during the property’s 30th anniversary livestream, but it’s still early days, so there’s nothing to actually show yet.
In any case, this is pretty big news. It’s been over seven years since there was a new Mana title, and over 14 years since there was a new Mana title not built for mobile. But the recent success of various Mana remakes and remasters (including the very enjoyable Trails of Mana on PlayStation 4) has paved the way for a fresh instalment.
Hopefully development goes smoothly, and it isn’t too long until we’re playing through this brand new adventure.
