Sony made an official and perhaps an inadvertent announcement on June 29, 2024 regarding its new studio acquisitions. It formally announced on the PlayStation Blog that Housemarque is now one of its PlayStation Studios developers. However, the PlayStation Japan Twitter account announcement included an image that suggested Bluepoint Games could also join the PlayStation Studios family. [Thanks, Nibel!]
Housemarque released a number of PlayStation-exclusive games over the last ten years. Most recently, the studio is known for the 2024 PS5 game Returnal. It also made Resogun, the Super Stardust games, and Matterfall.
As for Bluepoint Games, here’s Nibel’s tweet that showed the PlayStation Japan tweet with the “Welcome to the Family” image suggesting it could be part of PlayStation Studios. Bluepoint didn’t make any statement on Twitter regarding the image. Siliconera submitted a request for comment.
I was able to verify this (since Tweetdeck still shows deleted tweets) pic.twitter.com/ZLXYogdqT1

Bluepoint Games is known for its remasters. Most recently, it made the PS5 Demon’s Souls remake, the PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus, and the PS4 remasters of Gravity Rush and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Two of the developer’s first projects were God of War Collection and The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection for the PS3.
