Atlus revealed the next Shin Megami Tensei V demon, and it is one people might remember from the Persona series. Kumbhanda will appear in SMT V. Most recently, the Haunt-type demon appeared in Persona 5.
As usual, the trailer gives us a chance to see Kumbhanda in interactions, the field, and battle. This means a hint at its moveset. In the video clip, it uses the death skill Mudoon+2. Also, as usual, another demon is confirmed. In addition to Kumbhanda, Tsuchigumo will appear in the game. (And yes, it succumbs to Mudoon+2.)
The video closed with a teaser for the next demon in the series. The silhouette seems to suggest that Suzaku will return in this title.
There are going to be over 200 demons in the game, and Atlus is gradually offering a peek at each one. In addition to Kumbhanda, the following eight demons’ SMT V appearances have been confirmed. So far, only Amanozako and Fionn mac Cumhaill are the only “new” ones.
Shin Megami Tensei V will come to the Nintendo Switch in Japan on November 11, 2024 and worldwide on November 12, 2024. Atlus announced another round of the Fall of Man edition will be available to order “soon.”
