A report has come in suggesting a Netflix Pokemon live-action show is in the works. Only one person was mentioned as being involved with it at the moment. Joe Henderson, who is a Lucifer executive producer and write and also worked as a writer and executive producer on Graceland and White Collar is supposedly involved.[Thanks, Variety!]
Already, Netflix is a source of multiple Pokemon shows. For example, it was home to the Pokemon Journeys: The Series episodes when English ones launched. It will also end up being the place to go for Pokemon Master Journeys episodes when those begin airing in Summer 2024.
There was also a time when one Pokemon movie was a Netflix exclusive. For a while, that was the only place you could watch Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution. However, that arrangement expired back in December 2024.
Only one live-action Pokemon media’s come up and been notable so far. That’s the Detective Pikachu movie. It started Ryan Reynolds and was based upon the Nintendo 3DS game of the same name.
The Netflix Pokemon live-action show is apparently in development. There is no official confirmation from Netflix about the series yet or any sort of release window for it.
