It’s been reported recently that Sony is currently leading the charge with PS5 in the number of consoles sold in the UK. Head of Gamesindustry.biz Christopher Dring took to Twitter to share his findings on the matter, which reveals Nintendo Switch at second place and Xbox Series consoles “snapping at its heels.”
While the console wars are a heated topic of their own, it’s quite obvious as to why PlayStation is currently the console of choice for most gamers. Sony’s next-gen machine launched with a number of stellar first-party exclusives and has retained its momentum with games like Returnal and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
Xbox has around 2 dozen studios under its belt, but most have yet to ship anything this console generation. The Redmond-based giant is also making waves within the industry with its Xbox Game Pass service, and thus it would be interesting to see how these numbers look further down the line.
