Rockstar has dropped Red Dead Online’s PlayStation Plus requirement for two weeks to coincide with the release of its new Blood Money update.
PlayStation players can play Red Dead Online without a PlayStation Plus subscription from 13th to 26th July, Rockstar said. It costs £17.99 from the PlayStation Store.
Red Dead Online currently requires Xbox Live Gold to play, but it’s worth noting it’s included with Xbox Game Pass.
Speaking of Blood Money, it adds a new currency called Capitale, which is a system of exchange Guido Martelli, the right hand man to the mob boss Angelo Bronte, wants to recover.
The update also adds three multi-part Crime Contracts – The Railroad Contract, The Jeb Phelps Contract, and The Bluewater Contract – each with their own story.
You trade Capitale to henchmen in Martelli’s network, who will then send you on the first of three, larger scale Opportunities. Expect more Crime Contracts as well as two additional Opportunities in the weeks ahead, Rockstar said.
Elsewhere, the Quick Draw Club is a new series of four passes to be released in consecutive installments over the months ahead. Each pass includes 25 ranks and costs 25 gold bars (you recoup your investment at the end of each pass by completing all 25 ranks).
And finally, as part of the Blood Money update, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online on PC now offer Nvidia DLSS support to all Windows users with eligible Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards. The newly supported feature boosts framerates and generates sharp images, Rockstar said. The trailer for that is below:
