Singularity 6 raises $30m to fund debut MMO game

Los Angeles-based developer Singularity 6 has raised $30 million in a series B financing round.

The round was led by FunPlus Ventures, with support from previous investors in the firm; Andreessen Horowitz and LVP, Transcend, Anthos Capital and Mitch Lasky.

Earlier this month, Singularity 6 unveiled its debut game, Palia, a community simulation MMO. The studio plans to use the funding to fuel the ongoing development and launch of the title.

Singularity 6 was co-founded in 2018 by Aidan Karabaich and Anthony Leung, both formerly of Riot Games. Karabaich is also working as game director at the studio, while Leung serves as CEO.

“We were overjoyed at the positive reception of Palia’s public reveal,” said Leung.

“The incredible response from the community has further invigorated us in our pursuit to deliver an immersive online world where players can feel like they truly belong. Creating that experience may have seemed like a daunting prospect, but with all of the support and encouragement we’ve received, we are more heartened than ever.”
