There are some games that are just weirdly natural fits for the Nintendo Switch, and Slime Rancher has always been one of them. Except, until today, it wasn’t even on there! Crazy. Luckily, developers Monomi Park have finally righted this wrong with the launch of Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition on Switch.
And no, we didn’t misspell “portable” — plorts are the game’s currency, which is just a cute word for “slime poop”. As a slime rancher, your job is to round up the slimes of the wild in order to sell their adorable dung on the stock market, making enough money to eventually expand your farm, find new slimes, and paint your house nice colours.
Earlier this year, Monomi Park announced that the Slime Rancher sequel would be an Xbox Game Pass launch title, and an exclusive to Microsoft’s various consoles.
But at least we can play the original until then. Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition is out now on the Nintendo Switch eShop!
