Sega has revealed a new Sonic Colors Ultimate gameplay trailer, which features the first Tropical Resort level of the game. The trailer shows Sonic as he goes through Act 2 of Tropical Resort, ending with the final score screen. While it doesn’t show off any of the new cinematics in the game, Sonic’s use of Cyan Laser is featured heavily.
Sonic Colors Ultimate is a remaster of the original Sonic Colors which came out for the Nintendo DS and Wii in 2010. The new remaster features updated graphics and newly mastered cinematics. According to developers, the game will also feature “elements of the Sonic movie” that came out recently. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will also be available to play in 4K.
While the trailer doesn’t show any of the new HD cinematic scenes, it does provide a good look into how some of the abilities in the game look. Act 2 of Tropical Resort looks almost exactly the same as the original game, all the way down to the background noises and buildings. Notably, many of the sound effects also seem to be exactly the same as Sonic Colors.
Sonic Colors Ultimate will be available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store on September 7, 2024.
