The best MP5 Warzone setup

Want to know the best MP5 Warzone attachments and setup? It’s no surprise that one of the strongest submachine guns in core multiplayer is also one of the best SMGs in Warzone – but now that all the Call of Duty Cold War weapons have been integrated with Warzone in Season One, there are now two different MP5s available to equip. No need for confusion, though; we’re here to help you get the best out of both weapons with mods.

Both MP5s are relatively easy to unlock; the Cold War MP5 is available from level 4, and the Modern Warfare MP5 at level 12. There isn’t too much difference between the two; both have great mobility and damage up close, though the CW MP5 feels slightly better at mid-range. They share a solid rate of fire, and similar, easy-to-manage vertical recoil; if you’re used to the MW MP5, you’ll need to adjust slightly as the CW MP5 recoil doesn’t drift to the right like the MW MP5 does. With attachments, the ADS time on the MW MP5 is slightly faster, but the reload time is far better on the CW MP5.

Both are excellent choices for a secondary weapon – you’ll want to use the Overkill perk to run your chosen MP5 with a long-range weapon too; we recommend incorporating them into a DMR loadout. A Warzone assault rifle combo also works well with the MP5, so consider our Warzone Kilo 141, Warzone M4A1, and Warzone FAL setups.

Best Modern Warfare MP5 Warzone loadout

The best Modern Warfare MP5 Warzone attachments are:

• Monolithic Integral Suppressor
• Merc Foregrip
• 5mW Laser
• 45 Round Mags
• FTAC Collapsible

We prefer the Monolithic Integral Suppressor over the Monolithic – it’s got better velocity and improved range. The 5mW Laser will help your hip fire accuracy, allowing you to barrel around corners at full speed and land the majority of shots in close-quarters fights. The Merc Foregrip provides crucial buffs to your aim down sight speed and recoil management. Besides, the iron sights on the MP5 are so good you really don’t need an optic.

One of the MP5’s most frustrating qualities is its slow reload time and small default mag size of just 30. The 45 Round Mags are an essential addition, and if you’re looking for even more speed, you can swap out the FTAC Collapsible for Sleight of Hand, though you’ll miss out on the stock’s movement speeds and ADS buff.

After months of being one of the best SMGs in Warzone, the Modern Warfare MP5 was nerfed in the August 17 update, reducing its time-to-kill speed. The devs have been making sweeping changes over the past few months in an attempt to make it harder to kill enemies. The MP5 never felt overpowered, but it looks like the developers decided to take pre-emptive measures.

Best Cold War MP5 Warzone loadout

The best Cold War MP5 Warzone attachments are:

• Agency Suppressor
• 9.5” Ranger
• SWAT 5mw Laser Sight
• Salvo 50 Rnd Fast Mag
• Serpent Wrap

The Agency Suppressor will extend your damage range like the Monolithic. The 9.5” Ranger barrel improves bullet velocity, which is great for Cold War weapons as they tend to suffer from comparatively low velocity.

This weapon can be devastating when firing at close range, so we’ve gone for the SWAT 5mw Laser Sight to increase the weapon’s hip fire accuracy. Aiming down sights is still important, which is why we’ve included the Serpent Wrap to buff your ADS time.
