It’s time for another update on The Last of Us’ TV adaptation. HBO is working alongside PlayStation Productions to bring Naughty Dog’s beloved game to the small screen, with shooting to begin this month. Production is just getting started, but news about the cast has been slowly trickling out.
The latest character to be cast in the show is Sarah Miller, Joel’s daughter. Nico Parker will portray her in the adaptation, as reported by Deadline. Parker only has a couple of acting credits to her name, with her breakout role being the young girl, Milly Farrier, in 2019’s Dumbo. She’s also appeared in a miniseries called The Third Day, funnily enough playing a character named Ellie.
She joins a pretty great cast, with Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey portraying Ellie, and Merle Dandridge reprising her role as Marlene. As mentioned, shooting is just about to begin, so we’re not likely to see the finished series for quite some time. Even if you’ve played the game plenty of times, the HBO series will apparently deviate in certain places, so it should be worth a watch for that fresh take on the story.
