The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker is now available for Android devices | Articles

CD Projekt Red has released The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker onto the Google Play store as a free download.

The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker is a standalone singleplayer adventure set in the popular Witcher universe, where you take on the role of Queen Meve of Lyria and Rivia, who is forced to war in the face of an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion. It takes place before the events of The Witcher (book, game and show) and shows another side to the realm that previously had not been explored.

The game combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzle solving and turn-based battles as you lead a small force to repel the invading armies and build alliances to take the north back.

The combat itself is presented in a card deckbuilder format, played similarly to Gwent, an in-universe card game that also has its own standalone spin-off game on iOS and Android.

In fact, by playing Thronebreaker, you can also unlock bonuses in Gwent: The Witcher Card Game including unique ornaments and 20 premium cards to be used in multiplayer matches.

Thronebreaker’s release on Android brings the complete experience to the system, with dedicated touch controls suitable for mobile play and cross-save features that allow you to play the same playthrough across multiple devices.

It’s being distributed using a freemium model, meaning you can play up to a certain point in the story for free to get a taste for the game, but must then purchase it to continue playing.

The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker is now available on the Google Play store. It’s also been available on the iOS App Store since last year, and is also on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
