World War Z: Aftermath, the expanded re-release of Saber Interactive’s co-op tie-in, will chomp at PlayStation 4 from 21st September. As previously announced, the new version will include new maps, including the Vatican City and Russia’s snowbound Kamchatka peninsula. It’ll also run in 4K at 60 frames-per-second on PS5 through backwards compatibility, with a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade planned for next year.
In addition to the aforementioned locations, Aftermath will feature new characters, a new melee system, new zombies, and a first-person mode. And, when the next-gen version launches next year, you’ll unlock access to a new Horde XL mode, which will fill the screen with even more undead than ever before. If you already own the game, then you can upgrade for just $19.99. Alternatively, it’ll set you back $39.99 if you’re coming in fresh.
