Cover has announced a new Hololive horror project titled “Hololive Error”, along with a new teaser trailer featuring founding member Tokino Sora. The project is set to begin sometime in August 2024, with more details coming soon.
While not many details have been revealed, the horror project looks to be set in a Japanese school and includes Sora as a schoolgirl who is obsessed with the main protagonist. In the teaser trailer, she asks the player character if they will “be friends forever”, seemingly chasing them down through a darkened school hallway in a virtual world.
The trailer then switches to what looks to be a school in real life, where Sora continues to chase the protagonist down before ending on a strange pendant. The announced project will likely feature two schools from two different worlds: an older-style virtual school made mainly of wood and a more modern school set in the real world.
The Japanese press release notes that the project will be different from Hololive’s usual image. Additionally, Cover will continue to release new information via the project’s teaser site. It is not confirmed whether the project will be a video game, video series, or something else.
