The Attack on Titan manga may have ended a few months ago, but the anime still has a little bit of story to get through before wrapping up. Thankfully, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 will begin January 2024, MAPPA announced via the show’s Twitter account.
MAPPA also announced that the series will debut a new animated special ahead of the new season’s release. The special episode will follow characters like Levi, Ani, and Mikasa as they recap the events that have happened so far and look ahead at what’s to come.
One thing that remains to be seen in the final season is just how closely it will follow the manga. When the manga ended in April, it was met with divided opinions among the fanbase, which at least opens up the chance for a slight change by MAPPA, though it’s also possible that the studio will simply adapt the story as it was originally written.
Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 is expected to stream on Crunchyroll when it’s released early next year.
