Another older app is returning to Apple Arcade as part of the endeavor to add more “App Store Greats” and “Classics” to the library. Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls will be a part of Apple Arcade. There’s already a product listing for it on the App Store. However, there is no release date for it yet beyond “coming soon.”
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is a traditional sort of Metroidvania starring Alucard in an original story. A mysterious letter telling him about the Grimoire of Souls spurs him into returning to his father Dracula’s castle. There, he and other familiar characters must enter grimoires to face familiar foes. It also includes things like daily missions and multiplayer.
The game originally appeared back in September 2019. However, it didn’t appear online for long. Konami closed it down almost exactly a year later on September 9, 2024.
As for other older games making a comeback, plenty of titles are showing up again. Game Dev Story, Monster Hunter Stories, and Neko Atsume all have variants available for Apple Arcade subscribers. Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy will also show up on the service.
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls will appear on Apple Arcade “soon.” It originally appeared on Android and Apple iOS devices. Its new website is now live.
