Dead by Daylight devs buff Pyramid Head’s butt in latest patch

The latest Dead by Daylight patch looks pretty normal at first glance — there’s a buff to K-Pop killer the Trickster, and a host of bug fixes. But if you look a little closer, you’ll see a suspicious note that reads, “Fixed an issue that caused The Executioner’s rear to be too flat.”

The Executioner is Pyramid Head, the iconic Silent Hill villain. When he joined the fray back in June of 2024, fans celebrated his enormous ass. Dead by Daylight is all about being chased by a host of nefarious Killers, and some people like it when those Killers have a big butt. When developer Behaviour tweaked the Killer’s blood-stained smock, fans raised a fuss about how it looked. Had the developers dared to touch that perfect behind? Behaviour denied the charge vehemently, stating, “I can confirm that while our art team did continue to polish Pyramid Head, his butt remained untouched. The apron covering his body was modified, which might create the illusion that his body was also changed.”

So, was that a lie? Was Pyramid Head’s ass stealthily nerfed? Polygon reached out to Behaviour, which clarified the patch note. A representative for the developer shared this statement with Polygon:

Pyramid Head’s behind was never nerfed. This said, we recently found a bug on one of his outfits, The Corrupted. The cloth covering his butt had clipping issues which made it well, flat. We fixed it and it will be pushed live in our next update, this Tuesday. I hope that you, and our community agree on the level of roundness, I know you have been closely monitoring the situation.

We can only hope Behaviour is also monitoring the situation, but the Known Issues section of the patch notes offers hope. One of those issues is that two of the game’s maps are currently disabled; the other is that “The Executioner’s rear may still be too flat.” Honestly, you probably can’t go wrong with just amping it up another 20% or so, but it’s good to see a developer that’s in touch with its game’s community.
