Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun Will Buff Elemental Bursts

miHoYo has posted a character trailer and more information about the upcoming new 5-star in Genshin Impact, Raiden Shogun. Raiden Shogun is the Electro Archon who rules over Inazuma, and is the one behind the Vision Hunt. Similar to fellow Archons, Venti and Zhongli, Raiden Shogun is considered a support character. Unlike them, who excel in crowd control, Raiden Shogun buffs the party’s Elemental Burst damage.

The character trailer shows off Raiden Shogun with her companions before they fade away. Her loneliness, as well as what leads her into her philosophy of eternity, are clear even though the trailer itself does not have dialogue or narration. Unlike the trailers for Yoimiya and Ayaka, who are also new Inazuma character for Genshin Impact, Raiden Shogun’s video is very atmospheric. Anne Yatco (Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen) is the English voice actor for Raiden Shogun, while Miyuki Sawashiro (Mordred, Rama, Nightingale, and Artemis in the Fate series) provides her Japanese voice.

Raiden Shogun uses polearms in battle, though she can summon her tachi when she activates her Elemental Burst. Her skill, Transcendence: Baleful Omen, deals Electro damage, and applies the Eye of Stormy Judgment buff. Characters with the buff deal AoE Electro damage with their attacks, with the skill activating every 0.9 seconds. She also has a passive skill that charges Resolve stacks whenever a character uses their Elemental Burst, capping out at 60.

Resolve Stacks go towards Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Burst, Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu. Musou Shinsetsu deals AoE Electro damage and changes her weapon to her Musou Isshin tachi, which infuses all of her attacks with Electro damage. The more stacks she has, the more damage she can deal. She can also regenerate energy for all nearby party members with every attack. Additionally, she has increased interruption resistance and becomes immune to Electro-Charge reaction damage.

Raiden Shogun will appear in Genshin Impact Version 2.1, which goes live on September 1, 2024. Genshin Impact is readily available on mobile devices, Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Other upcoming Inazuma characters include Kokomi and Sara.
