Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s president, recently took part in an interview with The Washington Post where they asked him about the ongoing Switch Pro rumours that have been floating around for quite some time now. In the run-up to E3, Bloomberg even went as far as publishing a report that stated that they understand an updated Switch model will be released sometime later this year. Of course, there was no sign of it at E3.
In clear Nintendo fashion where he’s said it before in other interviews, Doug Bowser has reiterated that Nintendo are always looking into the future at new technologies and how it can be applied to their hardware.
Here’s what Bowser had to say on the matter:
“We are always looking at technology and how technology can enhance gameplay experiences. It’s not technology for technology’s sake”.
“It’s how specifically can technology enhance a gameplay experience. And then where do you apply that technology? Do you want to apply it on current existing hardware or platforms, or do you want to wait for the next platform? And then what’s the right gameplay experience with that? There’s a host of factors that goes into it, and it’s something we’re always looking at.”
