Genshin Impact — Thunder Sojourn Automaton Front guide

Today marks the beginning of the final phase of Genshin Impact‘s Thunder Sojourn event. A new challenge is available and you’ll be fighting none other than the Perpetual Mechanical Array. Likewise, you’ll be able to obtain the currency needed to grab the remaining rewards. Genshin Impact – Thunder Sojourn Automaton Front challenge guide

After talking to Muzhen, she’ll direct you to a location just north of the Grand Narukami Shrine. This actually has a portal that leads you to the Automaton Front special domain. Once you start the challenge, the Perpetual Mechanical Array will spawn. It’s mostly similar to the regular variant, so you have nothing to worry about here.

Perhaps the only key difference that you’ll notice is that the event-related objects (i.e., Nimbus Gems and Thunder Dwellings) do appear in the chamber. The same mechanics still apply, such as getting linked to three Nimbus Gems if you wish to have active buffs.

You could do this if the Ruin Sentinel minions are giving you trouble, though getting the buffs aren’t necessary. There are no other challenge tasks here except beating the Perpetual Mechanical Array which gives you 300 Thunder Crystals per run.

On the bright side, the Thunder Sojourn’s Automaton Front domain does allow for random matchmaking. You can simply join a group and continue farming (which I think is a lot faster than trying to do this solo). You could practically ignore the buff mechanics and wail away at the boss and its robotic spawns.

Note: Once the boss is defeated, don’t leave the group yet. The host can restart the encounter to save time.

All in all, you’ll need roughly 3,300 Thunder Crystals or 11 domain completions if you want to acquire everything from the event shop, as well as your free Beidou.

Oh, and don’t forget to check your Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass to obtain some EXP after you’ve amassed enough Thunder Crystals in total.
