Horizon Zero Dawn’s backwards compatibility patch has been robustly demanded by PlayStation 5 owners, and while it was announced alongside a delay to sequel Horizon Forbidden West, it’s finally here. We figured we’d take a look at how well it runs with Sony’s vaunted PS5 Game Boost enabled, and we can confirm that the results are scintillating.
Guerrilla Games’ action RPG packed both a rich narrative and some of the most sublime visuals on PS4, but its gameplay was also among some of the best in the genre. Now it feels silky smooth on the next-gen console, thanks to the doubled framerate. Lining up shots and witnessing the carnage is a joy, and if you haven’t currently got a copy of the game installed, we’ve embedded some footage above.
