Sonic Colors: Ultimate sprints onto PlayStation 4 next month, and for some, it’ll be the first chance to play this well-received entry in the franchise. The game, which is a mix of 2D and 3D platforming stages, supplements the hedgehog’s signature abilities with the Wisps, an alien species enslaved by Eggman, and looking to bring down his intergalactic amusement park. If you’re unfamiliar with the Wisps and what they do, here’s where this new video comes in.
As you run and jump through each level, you may also run into one of these creatures, and each different coloured Wisp imbues Sonic with a unique ability. The Cyan Wisp, for instance, lets Sonic bounce between special crystals at lightning speeds, while the Green Wisp turns him into a being that can float and fly about to reach new areas and avoid traps. The Jade Wisp is brand new for Ultimate, and it allows Sonic to pass through solid walls to easily reach hidden spots.
We’re looking forward to getting to know all the Wisps when Sonic Colors: Ultimate arrives on PS4 on 7th September. Will you be checking out this remaster? Which Wisp is your favourite? Put on your running shoes in the comments section below.
