To start the new Mimi Tomo event in Genshin Impact, you’ll need to reach Adventure Rank 20 just so Katheryne from the Adventurer’s Guild can give you a quest. Visit the location that’s marked on your map and fight the enemies surrounding Ella Musk, the little girl who keeps asking you to recite poems to the hilichurl tribesmen. From there, you’ll be provided additional objectives. Here’s our guide to help you with the Mimi Tomo event and Unusual Hilichurl locations in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact: Mimi Tomo event and Unusual Hilichurl guide
Ella Musk will provide you a Handy Handbook of Hilichurlian which you can read via the event panel. It contains several phrases and their rough translations. She’ll also give you the location of a hilichurl who’s willing to chat. There are still other hostiles, so just be on the lookout for the friendly one that you can interact with.
Hilichurl Task #1
For this one, the hilichurl said “Mita movo lata.” According to the handbook, that refers to “meat in the water.” Give the fella some fish and you’ll complete this part.
You’re then given the next marked location, so look for the hilichurl there.
Hilichurl Task #2
This one was automatically translated by Ella Musk and it entails fighting a few Treasure Hoarder mobs nearby.
After eliminating all of them, return to the hilichurl and you’ll be given your next clue. It pertains to the Unusual Hilichurl.
The Unusual Hilichurl location and battle
The marked location is close to the Windrise Statue of the Seven. Your clue is “Unta nunu” which means “late night.” So, open your menu and fast forward the in-game clock until it’s past 10 p.m.
Check the area and you’ll find the Unusual Hilichurl just sleeping around (seen in the featured image at the top of this article). Engage it in combat, but be prepared. The Unusual Hilichurl has a lot of HP (almost as tanky as a Hypostasis elite). Likewise, it will summon several allies once you deplete its health bar. Look out for samachurls/shamans since they can heal it back to full.
When you’re done, you’ll receive your rewards (primogems, Hero’s Wit, and a purple Serenitea Pot furnishing). The Mimi Tomo event in Genshin Impact will continue until the end of the week. Perhaps we’ll see tougher fights against the Unusual Hilichurl or clues that are harder to solve.
In any case, we’ll continue updating this guide, so stay tuned.
