Ever since Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl had been officially announced last week, and fans got to see the game in action, some people have noticed gameplay similarities to Nintendo‘s Super Smash Bros. series. Well, Ludosity, the studio working on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, talked about the game to Kotaku.
According to Ludosity’s Elias “sinxtanx” Forslind, the team did get inspiration from Smash, but they also got it from the work they did on another Ludosity game, Slap City. They did this to “imbue the release with aspects that would appeal to those familiar with playing those games at every level”. Forslind also said that “if Slap City played a bit like the old Smash games, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl definitely plays like its own thing”.
