The Xbox Wire team recently played through the first few hours of Double Fine and Xbox Game Studios’ Psychonauts 2 – see what they had to say with their impressions write-up.
Mike Nelson, Will Tuttle and Jeff Rubenstein recently dove into Raz’s world. They go over their experience with the original Psychonauts (or lack thereof), the opening cutscene, the title’s atmosphere, Raz’s powers (including Clairvoyance), and its different aesthetics like its overall Art Deco feel.

Psychonauts 2 is a cinematic platformer starring trained acrobat and powerful young psychic Razputin “Raz” Aquato. Players will be able to dive into people’s brains in an attempt to unlock hidden memories, battle their inner demons, and resolve their emotional baggage. The title’s story is set to strike a balance between humor and intrigue.

Psychonauts 2- Official Story Trailer
The game will come out for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC on August 25, 2024. The title will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass, and will support Smart Delivery.
