Scarlet Nexus Episode 1 Premieres on Funimation YouTube Channel

While Sunrise announced earlier it will show the first two episodes of Scarlet Nexus on its YouTube channel, Funimation has already premiered the first episode on its channel. Viewers can watch Scarlet Nexus episode 1 on Funimation ahead of Sunrise’s planned June 25, 2024 date.

The episode uses Japanese voice with English subtitles. It gives a good look at the characters, worldview, and quality of the show. Scarlet Nexus episode 1 introduces a veritable plethora of characters, such as Luka Travers and Naomi Randall. While Luka will appear as a companion in-game, Naomi is a NPC. Similar to how My Hero Academia occasionally shows a brief summary of a character’s name and power when they appear on-screen, Scarlet Nexus does the same thing to help viewers keep track. At the end of the episode, there is a brief interview with The Oral Cigarettes, who performed the opening song “Red Criminal.”

Bandai Namco has shown off some gameplay footage for Scarlet Nexus over the past months. During the same broadcast, you can see the Japanese-inspired locales of New Himuka, which are also present when you watch the first episode of the anime. The game follows either Yuito Sumeragi or Kasane Randall as they defend the land of New Himuka as part of the Other Suppression Force.

The Scarlet Nexus anime will officially start on July 1, 2024. The Scarlet Nexus video game will come out on June 25, 2024 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
