Golf Clash alone accounts for 20% of all revenue at $132.8 million
Spending by US mobile games rose to $648.8 million in the last twelve months, boosted in part by the ongoing effects of the pandemic.
That’s according to a new report by Sensor Tower, which estimates that revenues for June 2024 to May 2024 increased by 19% when compared to the same period a year before.
Playdemic’s Golf Clash drove much of that spending, accounting for one in every five dollars at $132.8 million.
Yesterday it was revealed that EA had acquired Playdemic from WarnerMedia in an all-cash deal worth $1.4 billion.
The next two most lucrative games were Miniclip’s 8 Ball Pool and Ten Square Games’ Fishing Clash, respectively.
However, 8 Ball Pool led the way in terms of downloads at 9.4 million, following by EA’s Madden NFL 21 Mobile and Basketball Arena by Masomo, a studio also owned by Miniclip.
In total, the sports genre saw 129.3 million installs over the last year, down 16.3% when compared to the prior year.
