Week 4 – ASTRO Gaming Blog

We’re back again with another weekly update for the free-to-enter NYSL Power Players tournament series. As a refresher, we recently announced a year-long run of free Call of Duty tournaments and ladders with the New York Subliners and Beyond!

Week #4 of the 4v4 Proving Grounds ladder has come to a close, and teams are consistently raising the bar for what it takes to be a top contender. If you and your team haven’t yet climbed the ranks, do not fear. There are still 4 weeks left to make your move!  Let’s take a look at how things panned out in this past week of Proving Grounds.

TOP 8 STANDINGS UPDATE

Looking at the ladder standings after Week #4, it’s clear that our top squads have continued tearing through the competition. These spots determine who will earn the coveted headset prizes and invitations to the Season 1 Playoffs, so the hunger for the climb is fierce.

THE KINGS & THE NEW BLOOD

If you followed along during Week #3, you know that team Dingers Dominion swooped in and grabbed the #1 spot over team Demons. This week, Dingers Dominion further solidified their reign and still remain untouched in their dominance. In total, Dingers Dominion tacked on an additional 6 wins this week and stand with an impressive 21-0 win record. Set aside hopes of dethroning them, the goal should be to put a loss on their record to simply prove that they can be beat!

With this week’s update, we welcome a new squad into the Top 8 – team Purple Gems. Putting up a clean record of 3-0, they enter the ranks in the #7 spot on the ladder.  If they can hold this position, they will guarantee themselves a spot in the Season 1 Playoffs where an additional $4,000 is on the line.

ASTRO LEADERBOARD PRIZES

Top 8 or not, each and every week teams who play the most matches to earn points have a chance to win ASTRO gear. Dingers Dominion is the team who will be taking home CDL A40 TR Headsets this week!
