Wrath of the Righteous — War council and decrees guide

Battling hordes of monsters and constructing buildings aren’t your only objectives in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. You also need to find reliable allies and trustworthy advisors. Moreover, you have to make proclamations that can affect the war effort. Here’s our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous crusade management guide to help you with your war council, decrees, and events.

Note: For more information, check out our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous guides and features hub. You may also take a look at our main guide for the game’s crusade mechanics.

These facets are also part of the crusade management system which you’ll get to try out during Act III in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Once you interact with the war table, it’ll open the world map. Here, you’ll see the events and decrees that you can enact. You may also open this while exploring the world map (not just when you’re inside Drezen Citadel) by clicking on the “Crusade” button at the lower-left portion of your screen. It looks like a castle or fortress.

What are events?

Events are basically dilemmas that are presented as the Fifth Crusade progresses. Some will have adverse effects, and there are also options that will only appear depending on (a) the presence of certain companions or (b) your chosen Mythic Path.

What are decrees?

Unlike events which are instant decisions, decrees are proclamations that can take several days before they’re completed. One way of looking at them is like “researching” something new, discovering an agenda, or completing certain quest steps.

One particular decree is called “Xanthir’s Experiments” which is required for the Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path.

What is the war council?

Your war council is comprised of chosen advisors, either your own companions, NPCs you’ve met before, or newcomers who’ve become aware of your triumphs. From time to time, your war council will present you with several key decisions, some of which will affect how specific moments and events would play out.

At certain parts of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, the advisors in your war council might also provide you with extra recruitable units and mercenaries (depending on the region where they’re from). Another important example here is when Melies arrives at your court. If you have him as your advisor, it will let you progress further until you unlock the Devil Mythic Path (which is an amalgamation of the Angel and Demon Mythic Paths).
