New PS4 Game Release Dates in 2024

@JJ2 There are always going to be comparisons. But I do think a game like Death Stranding would be viewed better as a PS5 launch title rather than a PS4 swan song.

Of course if it turns out PS5 is just a PS4 New Pro, meaning it plays all PS4 games but also PS5 games – like the New 3DS – then people won’t have to buy whatever it is that’s released on PS5, they can just keep playing PS4 games in uprezed 4k or whatever the PS5 will do to them.

But there is always extra excitement from a new console launch – Ninteod was selling games like 1 2 Switch and Snipperclips alongside Zelda, neither of which would sell very well now – and I think that excitement woudl help Death Stranding more than say another Uncharted, Tomb Raider or God of War, which would just sell on it’s own.

And I didn’t mean to knock Spiderman, just that maybe last year or next year it might have received a few more awards, not having to go up against GoW and RDR2. The first year of a new console is usually a little barren – Switch changed that with it’s held back Wii U Games – and that would benefit DS more than other known games. New IP are always a tough sell, hence GoW, RDR2, and all the other never ending sequels from Uncharted, Tomb Raider, AC, etc.
